Since the standard for some people is continually improving, more people are given the opportunity to see and to sense powerful masks in person, by traveling all over the world. They start to seriously appreciate masks as art objects for collection. Others collect masks as cultural artifacts for studying. Most of these masks have been obtained through archaeological excavations, in field expeditions, or are artist's replicas of masks.
